For efares from united flights can find someone coming out this way def not the likely the fastest but is the likely the eastern iowa airport cid from chicago ord to des moines or have.

Greyhound Bus from downtown Chicago is one way, or you can fly to Cedar Rapids, Iowa City is just a few miles east of Cedar Rapids airport. I’m not sure about rail.
